GENERAL WORKTOP CARE

General Cleaning: For day-to-day cleaning, use a cloth or sponge with warm water to wipe down your worktops. We recommend Akemi’s ‘Quartz Care Maintenance Kit’ as the best way to clean and maintain your worktop. This kit is available to purchase from us at Cork Quartz Worktops, for your ease.

GENERAL DO'S & DONT'S

Please note that any issues arising from the list below are NOT covered by your warranty:

 

1. Do not stand on worktop/island under any circumstances. Stone worktops are not designed to withstand body weight and may result in breakage/damage to worktop.

2. Spillages should be cleaned up immediately. Stubborn stains, e.g. tea bag, wine glass rings, turmeric and similar coloured spices, tomato sauces such as Bolognese, oil and grease from cooking, may be removed using an Akemi’s ‘Quartz Care Maintenance Kit’. Do not use abrasive pads for stain removal. Stains should be removed as soon as possible. The silicone seals on upstands, sinks etc can become discoloured and in some cases, may lift away from quartz if exposed to items listed in points 2, 3 and 4 of this warranty form on a regular basis.

3. Do not place hot objects directly onto the surface, (e.g. Pans, skillets, roasting tins etc) use a heat trivet or insulator to protect your worktop.

4. Do not expose your worktop to chemicals, bleaches, solvents, abrasive cleaners of any type, or any chemical, of an abrasive nature (e.g. nail varnish remover, paint strippers, drain or oven cleaners.) Also, avoid strong abrasive or alkaline cleaners, permanent markers and ink on the worktop. If any chemical as listed or similar come into contact with your quartz worktop, rinse the exposed surface immediately with plenty of clean water. Be sure to wear hand and eye protection when doing so.

5. Avoid chopping directly onto your work surface with sharp objects such as knives, cleavers, screwdrivers etc as they may scratch or chip surface. It is recommended to use a chopping board. Do not allow any solid objects to impact on edge of worktop as they can cause chipping. Chipping on edges are not covered by warranty.

6. Any exposure/use of the worktop for purpose’s other than domestic kitchen worktop usage voids warranty.

7. Movement on joints of worktop post fitting are not covered by warranty as settlement of units and 3rd party actions are beyond our control.

8. Recess draining boards can have a different appearance /surface finish to the finish on main worktop area. This is due to nature of production and is more obvious in some colours than others.

9. Any call outs after the 12-month warranty expires will be charged at the relevant rate depending on distance and nature of work involved. Cost will be invoiced for payment in advance of call to house. Any call out within the 12 months warranty period will be charged for if caused by third party activities/neglect etc.
